Let’s get real for a second—if you’re not making the ROI you expected from your coaching investment, it doesn’t mean you’ve failed, or that your coach isn’t good. But it does mean it’s time to evaluate what’s actually going on.

I’ve been in this space long enough to tell you with full confidence: coaching is not a miracle. Coaching is a container for growth. You get out what you put in.

The Mindset Shift: Your ROI is Your Responsibility

This might sound like tough love, but your coach is not responsible for your ROI. You are. I say this as someone who has coached hundreds of business owners across different industries—from zero-dollar months to consistent $10K, $50K, and beyond.

Here’s the truth: Your coach is the guide, but YOU are the one who implements, pivots, and leads the transformation.

If you’re not seeing a return, it’s not time to jump ship or search for a new strategy. It’s time to look at the inputs.

So What Do You Do If You’re Not Seeing ROI?

1. Ask Yourself: Am I actually using the support I’m paying for?

This is the biggest gap I see.
You have Voxer or Slack or private coaching calls—but you don’t use them. You wait to “have something worth bringing up.” You sit on ideas or challenges too long. Or worse—you ghost the program.

Use what you paid for. Send the voice notes. Ask the uncomfortable questions. Submit your copy or sales page or funnel for review. Your coach can only support what you share.

2. Are you implementing what you’ve been given?

If you’re stuck in learning mode and haven’t taken action, that’s the problem—not the coach, not the curriculum.

Implementation creates the ROI. I’ve had clients take one module from Scale to $5K®, apply it for a week, and sign clients by the end of the month. Not because it was magic. But because they did the work.

3. Are you being honest about where you are and what’s not working?

Sometimes the reason you’re not seeing results is because you’re not being transparent about what’s really going on. You’re telling your coach “it’s going okay” when you’re actually spiraling in self-doubt or not following through.

Don’t polish the truth. Bring the mess. Bring the mindset blocks, the failed launch, the botched DM convo. That’s how coaching works.

4. Audit your energy and attention

Are you spending your time on revenue-generating activities? Or are you reworking your brand colors and endlessly tweaking your offer?

An ROI doesn’t come from busy work—it comes from doing the work that directly moves the needle.
Pitching. Following up. Posting content with a CTA. Building relationships. Selling.

If you’re not doing those consistently, that’s your gap.

5. Make One Brave Move

If you’ve been waiting on a sign to “get serious,” this is it.

📌 Ask your coach the question you’ve been sitting on
📌 Put your offer in front of your audience

Your breakthrough doesn’t come from more consumption. It comes from brave, consistent action.

You are in charge of your results.

And the most empowering thing you can do is own that fully. Because once you do? There’s nothing you can’t create from that place.

So if you’re not seeing an ROI in coaching, ask yourself:

  • Am I actually using the support?
  • Am I implementing and tracking progress?
  • Am I being honest about my challenges?
  • Am I doing revenue-generating tasks consistently?

And if the answer is no—good news. That means you know exactly what to do next.

You’re not behind. You’re one powerful decision away from getting back on track.
